This handmade mug demonstrates the beauty of the mind in the kiln of life; the memories of past lives and the connection of dreams to the cyclical motion of the heavenly bodies. Constellations of gold and a spectrum of colors in the glazing portray the natural development of the cosmos in the microcosm of the mind; the white space in Galileo’s theory of cyclic motion and the divine geometry leading to scientific and philosophical enlightenment. Timeless circles decorate the inside representing the circular motion of the thought, first visualized in the Ouroboros (the serpent biting its tail). The design is symbolic of the atoma in the natural realm of Lucretius; the mind feeding on itself, refining itself, and achieving transmutation from a lesser state to sublime being.
