Hammered stainless chakoshi (matcha sifter) made in Tsubame, Japan, where metal-craft dates back to the Edo period. The tsuchime (hand-hammered pattern) is a highly skilled technique that renders each piece unique and pleasing to the touch. The tsuchime chakoshi is made to pair with our hand-hammered tea spoon. The inner sphere of the two-stage screen precisely matches the diameter of the tea spoon to work matcha through. In Japan this process is called shugata (before preparation), referring to the bolting of matcha through a sieve prior to the tea ceremony; a process that yields an uninterrupted tea ritual with a smooth, full-bodied matcha experience.
Made in Tsubame, Niigata, Japan
Food Grade Stainless Steel
Dimensions: sifter basket 3" diameter, 6" total length with handle
