Japanese tea growers call this tea, KAZUHIRO, which means, "Broad Harmony", a humorous interplay of two narrow-leaf cultivars coming together to form one broad leaf. It is premium grade gyokuro comprised of the Asatsuyu and Yabukita cultivars, organically grown in Saga, Japan, by Tsuru Kazuyuki. KAZUHIRO tea is expressly unique and vibrant, exhibiting distinct notes of fresh nori, wood sorrel, and white peach.

Kazuyuki-san's gyokuro tea is JAS certified organic, 100% Japanese, and single-estate, making it exceptionally rare in the world of green tea. His dedication to natural cultivation methods and the traditional processing of organic gyokuro requires extensive labor to produce this emerald of Japan. KAZUHIRO organic gyokuro tea is thoughtfully presented in a generous fold of handmade Japanese washi paper, flecked in gold and silver.

Kazuyuki-san works closely with his son to produce extraordinary tea, reminiscent of old-world Japan. The strength and quality of his tea can also be attributed to the age and resilience of his tea trees, the majority of which are over fifty years old. His farm is established high in the mountains of Saga, where temperature fluctuations and morning mist encourage a naturally sweeter, umami-rich tea; a reflection of the environment and his meticulous cultivation. Tsuru Kazuyuki's growing practices have surpassed standard organic regulations earning the Special Farming Products Organic Certification from Saga Prefecture, 2017.
