Cultivation

From the East Andean mountains, Organic Peru is 100% Arabica whole bean, low acid, single-origin coffee grown at 6,800 ft elevation. The mineral-rich soil, high elevation, and misty weather patterns produce a dense, nutrient-packed coffee often praised for producing artisanal beans with a complex profile of tropical fruit and cinnamon.

Heritage & Purity

Sourced from 100% farmer-owned cooperatives in the Cusco region, where farmers continue a long history of agroforestry, using the natural jungle to shade the coffee plants, and hand-picking the cherries at peak ripeness throughout the harvest. To ensure a clean, mold-free experience for health-conscious drinkers, the beans are transported in Ecotact sterile vacuum bags and small-batch craft-roasted in non-automated stainless steel roasters. This artisan process yields a clean caffeine source with sophisticated notes of cherry and cream.

Curation & Sustainability

Mellifera curates only the highest standards of sustainability. Organic Péru is USDA and CCOF Organic, ROC Certified Regenerative, and Fair Trade certified (FLO). Our internal testing confirmed that the plastic-free wood pulp packaging, lined with an airtight sugarcane layer, preserves the flavor so effectively that a 2-year-old bag remains indistinguishable from a fresh roast.
