This mug is handmade in an organic red glaze, emblematic of the Ancient Roman Genealogy, Cornelii Scipiones, one of the oldest patrician family lines that produced many great generals. The earth-red hue represents the Carnelian (Cornelian) gemstone used in signet rings, which became synonymous with the Patrician name, Cornelia. Great Carnelian generals like Scipio Africanus achieved divinity during their rule and were honored with the Jupiter ring, which bore the effigy of the god in carnelian glory. Radiant gold highlights in the glazing reflect the honorary title, Sol Invictus (the Unconquered Sun), and the inner rings represent the rising of the eagle in circular flight, an ancient omen of victory.

Each mug is handmade with 18k gold detailing. They are individually crafted at the Maiuri studio as one-of-a-kind pieces, with variations in glaze, color, and artistic impression. The images provided are representative of and comparably similar to the wares available for purchase.
