Mauiri Apollo Bianco Mug

Glazed in Lydian-blue, this mug is handmade in the color of the touchstone used to test the purity of gold and silver, also known as the 'stone of truth'. The Lydian touchstone originated in Anatolia where the temple of Delphi was built in honor of Apollo. The basanite purple-gray shimmer symbolizes both the emergence of virtue by friction and light emerging from the darkness. Hash strokes on the inside represent lines etched into the touchstone to test new ore against the strokes of true aurum.

Each mug is handmade with 18k gold detailing. They are individually crafted at the Maiuri studio as one-of-a-kind pieces, with variations in glaze, color, and artistic impression. The images provided are representative of and comparably similar to the wares available for purchase.
