Machu Picchu Organic Whole Bean Signature Coffee
In Incan mythology, Pachamama is the Earth Mother embodied in soaring mountain peaks, cascading waterfalls, and a vibrant ecology. Organic Machu Picchu coffee is her natural signature, organically grown at 6800 ft in the "cloud forest" of the eastern Andes, only six kilometers from the historic city. Thoughtfully prepared in a Vienna roast to capture the high-jungle essence of the Cusco region; a location praised for producing artisanal coffee beans with notes of tropical fruit and cinnamon. Native Incan growers work in tandem with craft-level roasters to bring you this captivating brew, often enjoyed as a wake-up cup paired with a fruity pastry.
Organic Machu Picchu is 100% Arabica whole bean, single-origin Peruvian coffee grown at high elevation. It is 100% farmer-owned, USDA and CCOF certified organic, ROC certified regenerative organic, and fair trade certified by FLO. The cherries are hand-picked to ensure full ripeness at harvest, then processed and packaged in Ecotact sterile vacuum bags to ensure the beans stay fresh and arrive mold-free at the roasting facility, where they are small-batch roasted in non-automated stainless artisan craft roasters. After proper cooling, the beans are packaged in plastic-free wood pulp bags with an airtight sugarcane interior layer for untainted flavor and long-term storage. Mellifera's own testing team compared an unopened 2 year old bag to a freshly roasted bag and experienced zero loss of freshness and flavor; the results being indistinguishable. Organic Machu Picchu whole bean coffee comes with Mellifera's propriatery French press recipe specifically made for this coffee, which makes a delightful brew with a flavor profile of cinnamon stick, toasted coconut, and pineapple.
