A delicate senchawan (sencha cup) made from kokudi (black clay) with a signature layer of white clay inside (white slip). Crafted at the Shōhō Kiln in Tokoname, each teacup is turned in the traditional tulip shape for ceremonial or daily use. The shape and size are ideal for enjoying premium sencha or gyokuro teas, and the white slip adds to the tea aesthetic by revealing the tea's true color.

Handmade Japanese tea wares are referred to as Kogei in Japan; the concept that beauty resides in the artisan’s work through nuances, wabi-sabi (irregularities), and defining differences between each piece.
