KOHEI is high-grade green tea, organically grown by Takahashi Yuzo and his mother in Oita, Japan. It is a blend of four cultivars specially processed to express higher levels of GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid), an essential amino acid known to help reduce stress and promote wellbeing.

KOHEI organic green tea presents with a pale, golden color, and soothes the palate with notes of sweet pea, rose hips, and manuka honey. It is packaged in a charming presentation that depicts Takahashi and his mother in sumi-sketch, honoring their commitment to family and the creation of fine organic green tea.

Takahashi green tea became the first farm in Oita, Japan to earn a JAS organic certification. The farm is run by second-generation producer Takahashi Yuzo, specializing in tamaryokucha and exploring the health benefits of artisanal blends. Takahashi cultivates seven tea varietals, continuing his family’s legacy of organic tea growing and the meticulous preparation of fine Japanese teas.
